Its been a whirlwind of a week, really, it has been. I’ve got a solution to a problem and I know it works but it just does not want to work for me! I also have the flu, which sucks and I have(as every mom has) a ton of housework pending. But amongst all the drama, tiredness and every other thing, I am able to laugh.
Today I witnessed a mini version of my husband and I. My kids were playing with each other and having a conversation in a style that mimicked my husband and my actions and conversational style to the T. I observed this and amidst my misery, I began to laugh. They were so sweet and cute to watch. Children truly do bring with them the sunshine in a cloudy day.
We took our little ones to the beach today as my son decided that he wanted to go fishing but what he actually meant was that he wanted to play in the water and never come back home. When they go to the beach, they are fairly well behaved, in fact we are officially beach bums considering we have been visiting the beach every weekend now.
As I mentioned, its been a whirlwind of a week and it hasnt been the easiest day either but my son is so sweet. He came to sit next to me, pulled me close to him and asked me whats wrong. He then gave me many kisses and he said to me, “Nana will fix” (meaning his grandfather will fix whats broken). Although my dad cannot fix my it issues, my son knows that my dad has the magic in his hands to fix virtually anything so in my baby boy’s head, he has solved my problem.
My children are my strength and they give me strength. If you ever feel like nothing is going your way, look to your kids. They will remind you that you have created a miracle. A walking, talking miracle that will be there to remind you that there are bigger things in this world than a bad day.
