Heres to the mums
Something a little different today. I saw something on tv last night, Mila Kunis said she wished that she was as good with her kids, the way her mum was great with her. She also said that her mum forgave her for so many things, which she only realised much later in life.
Heres to the mum that cleaned up a HUGE mess today, only to see another one that was just created behind her.
To the mum that set the bed up, all neat & tidy, only to have it upset within seconds
Heres to the mum that picks up tit bits of clothes lying all over the house, only for new sets of clothes to replace those ones
Heres to the mum that cleans & cleans & that doesn’t give up cleaning even though it seems like it’s pointless
Heres to the mum that makes sure clothes are clean, to enable those ten wardrobe changes per day
Heres to the mum that forgave you, the moment that you made the mistake
Heres to the mum that did not show you her disappointment & encouraged you
Heres to the mum that wiped your tears
Heres to the mum that instructs even though her instructions are never followed
Heres to the mum that always has something to do yet manages to pay attention to everyone
Heres to the mum who always has that one last thing to do before she sleeps
Heres to the mum that cuts your bread exactly the way you like it while remembering to cut it differently for someone else
Heres to the mum, who has done a million things right today, but is picked on for the one thing that she made an honest mistake with
Heres to the mum that has tried & failed & given up because she was ridiculed at for trying
Heres to the mum that teaches their kids all day, only for it to be replaced by something that she didnt want them to learn instead
Heres to the mum that is always placed in the stereotype of being a woman
Heres to the mum that works all day & comes home & sees to her family
Heres to the mum that has given up her career for her family
Heres to the mum that works from home, seeing to her kids & her family as well
Heres to the unappreciated mum, the one who hears words of praise on maybe a special occasion (if she is lucky)
Heres to the mum who makes sure that your things magically appear in the place that you are habituated to them being
Heres to the mum who talks because she wants to be heard, yet no one is really listening
Heres to the mum, who really wants something with all her heart but will never say a word about it
Heres to the mum, who spoils you even though you don’t realise it
Heres to the mum that juggles everything so that you don’t have to remember anything
Heres to the mums that raise their kids single handedly
Heres to the mum that has the patience of a Saint
Heres to the mum that stood strong for their family
Heres to the mum that has been judged by people who were never in her shoes
Heres to the mum that has the magic kiss of healing to their child’s injury
Heres to the mum that sacrifices her sleep so that her baby gets some
Heres to the mum that has to get up as soon as she sits down
Heres to the mum that gets up from her sleep with the tiniest noise or movement from her little one
Heres to the mums, all around the world that are doing what they do for the people they love. Heres to the mums that do everything and feels as if her effort goes unnoticed.
Remember you are doing the best you can. You carry on doing what you do mum. You’re doing great.
