Did you know that Mum’s listen to cool music too?

Today’s #favoriteTrack is none other than Keith Sweat’s Twisted.

Twisted was released in 1996 (Yeah, I was 3 years old at this time). The song also features Kut Klose and Pretty Ruse. It held it’s position of number 1 for three weeks on the U.S R&B chart & was right behind ‘Macarena’, holding the number 2 spot on the Billboard Hot 100. Twisted also peaked at number 1 for 14 consecutive weeks on Rhythmic Top 40.

There are 3 versions of the song:

  1. Twisted – featuring Kut Klose & Pretty Ruse
  2. Twisted (Radio Version) – featuring only Kut Klose (Pretty Ruse was omitted from this version)
  3. Twisted – Flavahood mix which features a backbeat sampled from Marvin Gaye’s sexual healing.

The Music Video

The video features Sweat as a homicide detective pursuing a female suspect that assassinated a police commissioner.

The video follows the following screenplay:

  1. Sweat is at a royal party that is interrupted by an unidentified killer shooting a member of royalty and the killer steals diamonds from the man that is shot.
  2. The killer escapes and is revealed to be a woman
  3. Keith captures her and she escapes from his car
  4. The woman, now on the run, is cornered while climbing up a ladder
  5. Keith is called onto the scene and commands that no one is to shoot
  6. A police officer shoots the woman and she is left dangling from the ladder
