Today’s #MondaysMelody is ‘Perfect’ by Ed Sheeran. I’ve heard this song many times over the past 2 weeks and even though I’m not ABSOLUTELY in love with it, it does have something about it that touches my soul.
It was released in November 2017. The following week, Sheeran re-released the song as a duet with Beyoncé, who sings the second verse from a female perspective.
The duet version has reached number one in both the US and UK.
The video for ‘Perfect’ (both lyrical & music) was released on Ed’s Youtube channel. The video stars Zoey Deutch and was directed by Jason Koenig, who also directed the video for “Shape of You”. On 15 December 2017, a music video for “Perfect Symphony” (duet with Andrea Bocelli) was also released.
I think this song serves as a perfect new age love song, sounding simple and filled with meaning. It looks like this is going to be a common song for couples to address as ‘our song’.
The song has topped too many charts to even mention their names but just know that this song is universally loved!
