Sooo I’m not about to fake a trip to Dubai (which you would need a Dubai Visa for!) or Paris and I’m not about to PRETEND that I know the first thing about flying WITH KIDS, because let’s face it; I don’t. What I do know though, is that Travelstart is one of the aces of knowledge when it does come to this area because they ensure that thousands of travellers are able to go on adventures daily.
Recently many people have been showing off their trips overseas and as much as I am happy about overseas trips, I feel that I still have so much to see in South Africa first. So for our next big holiday, I would absolutely LOVE to go to Cape Town! I definitely want to visit Bo-Kaap, The Two Oceans Aquarium, Greenmarket Square and of course, Ratanga Junction. You might be wondering why I haven’t mentioned the famous, Table Mountain. Well, that’s simple, I’m afraid of heights!
Now, even though I would love a good ol’ roadtrip, I wouldn’t even attempt it with the kids at their current ages! Ralee becomes a worm in the car, Yash fights for his space and the both of them fight for the ‘throne’ of front seat passenger (which we don’t allow by the way!). So yep, the only way that my family and I would be getting to Cape Town is yes, you got it; by plane!
Now it’s my understanding that doing ANYTHING with kids is basically like trying not to smudge your favorite nalipolish while running around a 2 year old (for those of you who don’t know, this is virtually IMPOSSIBLE). But I have also come to the understanding that if there is a faster way to do something, DO IT. For your own sanity, do all dreaded tasks as fast as possible with kids so that they don’t act out. That’s the reason that I would prefer to fly to Cape Town and anyways, I would LOVE to see Cape Town International Airport.
A flight has a shorter travel time than a drive and therefore, the flight wins! So I’m THAT person, the one that LOVES to research and I decided to do the research on flying with kids so that I know EXACTLY what I’m getting myself into. Here’s a cool infographic that I received from Travelstart with 10 tips for flying with children.
