So today’s app is an app that is widely known, it definitely does not need any introduction nor does it need any review. Instead, today I will share with you a few instagram hacks that are very useful in creating a brand account.

Keep an eye on the competition: Turn on post notifications from brands that are worthwhile keeping an eye on

How to do it:

  1. Visit the the profile page of the account you’d like to get notifications for
  2. Tap the three dots icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen
  3. Select Turn on Post Notifications

Note: If you’ve changed your mind, the option to turn off notifications lives in the same spot

Check out what others are checking out

Keep up to date with the latest trends that others are following:

How to do it:

  1. Tap on the heart icon in the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen to visit the activity tab
  2. The tab will default to You, simply select Following at the top of the screen

Manage multiple accounts

You may want to keep your brand and your personal account seperate, for obvious privacy reasons.

How to do it :

  1. Tap on the person icon at the bottom of the screen to visit your profile
  2. Tap the gear icon on iOS or the three dots on Android to go to Options
  3. Scroll to the bottom and select Add Account
  4. Enter the username and password for the second account you’d like to manage
  5. Once you’ve added a second (or third or fourth) account, the profile icon in the navigation bar will change from the silhouette of a person to your profile image
  6. To switch between accounts, simply long press your profile image in the navigation bar until a menu of your accounts appears
  7. Select your desired account, then snap, scroll, and like away

Do you need to pin your post to pinterest?

Here’s an interesting way to manage this:

How to do it on mobile:

  1. Go to the post you’d like to Pin
  2. Tap the three dots icon located above your post to the right
  3. Select Copy Share URL to copy the post link to your clipboard
  4. Open the Pinterest app on your mobile device
  5. Tap on the person icon to visit your profile
  6. Tap the plus sign icon at the top right of the screen to add a new Pin
  7. An Add a board or Pin menu will appear, select Copied link
  8. Pinterest will automatically open the link saved to your clipboard
  9. Choose the image you’d like to Pin and finish posting as usual

How to do it on desktop:

  1. Visit Instagram.com and find the post you’d like to Pin
  2. Right click on the post and select Open Link in New Window
  3. Use the Pinterest browser button to choose the image you’d like to Pin and finish posting as usual

Cyber trolls?

Filter your comments to hide comments that contain certain words or phrases.

How to filter comments:

  1. Select the person icon to visit your profile
  2. Tap the gear icon on iOS or the three dots on Android to go to Options
  3. Choose Comments
  4. Toggle the Hide Inappropriate Comments option on
  5. This feature will hide comments that contain words or phrases that are often reported as offensive
  6. You can also choose to add your own list of custom keywords that you’d like hidden from your posts

You can also turn commenting off for a post.

Follow instagram hashtags

How to follow hashtags:

  1. Tap on any hashtag you see on any post in the feed, or go to the Explore page (tap the magnifying glass icon) and type in the hashtag you want to follow.
  2. Look for the Follow button beneath the hashtag and above the gallery images.
  3. Tap the Follow button to follow that hashtag

To unfollow the hashtag, it’s the same procedure.

I hope these hacks were beneficial to you in some way. They are well known hacks but if you make use of them correctly, they can assist you greatly in creating your own brand.
