I was probably in primary school when the song ‘Yeah’ by Usher was released. It was THEE best song out there at the time and everyone who was anyone had this song. In the streets of Phoenix you would hear this song blaring through car speakers with the entire car vibrating. The car may have been scrapworthy but you can bet your life that the sound within that falling down piece of metal was worth more than the car.
Once upon a time, my family and I did not have DSTV. We had an aerial, in fact at first we had a bunny aerial. For those of you that are not familiar with such things, a bunny aerial was an aerial that you would attach to your tv and move around to get the clearest picture on your tv screen! On these channels, a famous song that they would play (in between soapied like Days of our Lives and the Bold and the Beautiful) would by ‘Barbie girl’ by Aqua.
This song still brings the smile to my face that it did years and years ago. Nelly & Kelly’s ‘Dilemma’ is still a big hit today and hits home for many old school lovers, like myself. This song takes you back all the way when it was the anthem song for every boyfriend and girlfriend around. Mann, do I love this track!
Do you remember when you were really small and the concept of love was something magical? Okay, okay, not everyone believed that, I know but still. This song will take you back to the days BEFORE actually having intense relationships, before making big life changing decision and way back to the time that life was only about being shy when you saw the boy that you liked accross the room, look at you. Yeah, I’m talking about ‘So Into You’ by Tamia ..
So as you can tell from looking at my social media feed, I’ve been having a Chris Brown inspired week. With a new obsession for the great dance moves featured in Tempo by Chris Brown (even though the music video’s concept for the song is quiet shocking), I decided to do a backtrack on one of my old favorites.
