DYME – Beauty On Demand – Review

Sooo, I’ve never had a manicure or pedicure in my life. After completing 26 years of living, the opportunity arose via this cool new app called Dyme. Dyme is an amazing new concept in which the app finds you artists within your area that are able to come out and give you beauty treatments and massages in the comfort of your own home. When I heard about this concept, I have to admit, I was really excited.. My life is so hectic; 3 kids, a home, a husband, a dog and a small business, lets face it, I would have NEVER managed to get pampered unless it was in the comfort of my own home.

My beauty tech arrived early (I mean, thats quiet awesome with a person like me who has full days and full nights as well..). I was blessed enough to get an artist by the name of Belinda. She was wonderful. She had whatsapped me earlier in the week to find out about my taste, likes and dislikes. I met Belinda and immediately felt as though I was meeting with an old friend. She made me feel super comfortable (good for me considering that I’m socially awkward) and once we started talking, there was NOT A SILENT MOMENT within my session.

So, I had the most fabulous time. Belinda and I gelled immediately, my kids were running around me while I was having a treatment and BOY, did I feel pampered?!? Belinda started off with soaking my hands in this heavenly blue liquid, she did a little scrub with some magical little stuff and put my hands back in to soak. I had my feet done as well in the same procedure.. I could have fallen asleep! (But we were talking sooo much!).

I asked Belinda a million and one questions, all of which she answered in depth and patiently. She had been practising beauty for about 10 years and she had just joined DYME recently. While my treatment was to die for, let me tell you more about the app and why I love it and would totally use it again!

BEFORE DYME

DYME, how it works & my favorite features

Okay, so firstly, the DYME app presents to you all of the different types of treatments that are available to you (The Client). You then add on whichever treatment you would like and proceed to adding in the address, date that you would like the treatment etc. Adding in an address allows the app to locate for you artists within the area that are available for the times stipulated by you. Now when it was my turn to book, I was a little disheartened when I received the message that there were no artists available for my area but I also received a message encouraging me to use the “CHAT OPTION” within the app. Now let me tell you, I’ve had MANY apps and usually the chat options turn out to be a bust, HOWEVER, DYME responded almost instantaneously and offered a solution for me to receive my treatment. I’m a real fan of the app for this and ONE other cool feature that it has.

So, the other cool feature of the app is that you are able to track your artist. So the app notifies you when the artist commences their journey to you, you can track where they are during their journey and it also notifies you when they’ve reached their destination (YOU).

They have a cash payment option (you know for peeps like me, that do not have a bank account; lol its a long story.. check out my instagram post to find out why I don’t have a bank account in the first place!)
